The StarQuest series are lightweight, portable grab-and-go telescopes that combine high-quality Sky-Watcher optics with a newly designed, precision-crafted equatorial mount. This mount features a high-quality, precision 60-tooth gearing in the DEC axis and 93-tooth in the RA axis, and excellent stability with a maximum payload of up to 3 kg. With the equatorial mount, once properly aligned with Polaris, you can easily track objects moving across the night sky using the precision, slow-motion control knobs. The Sky-Watcher 102/600 refractor is an achromatic doublet. This type of system guarantees good brightness of the image received. The telescope collects about 210 times more light than the human eye at night, providing the possibility of observing objects up to almost 12.6 magnitudes (with naked eye visibility up to 6 magnitudes). The size of the objective is also related to the optical resolution, which in this telescope allows for resolving stars that are more than 1.4" apart.
Compact, lightweight tube perfect for observing deep sky objects such as star clusters, galaxies or nebulae. The telescope's design also makes it a useful tool for observing nature. This type of telescope allows for observing large star fields, entire sections of the Milky Way. With the right eyepieces, it can provide a field of view comparable to wide-angle binoculars at a typical telescopic range. Due to these types of properties, this telescope can be used for observing comets, especially those with extensive tails. It is very well suited for observing variable stars using the visual method. With the use of short-focus eyepieces, this telescope will allow you to observe objects on the Moon's disk and will also allow you to admire planets in a basic way. The telescope is equipped with a 2" eyepiece extension tube. The set includes a 1.25" reduction to which a standard 1.25" 90-degree mirror attachment is mounted. By default, 1.25" accessories fit the telescope. To install 2" eyepieces, you will need an additional 2" angle attachment. The standard rack&pinion extension tube. 1. The Solar System • objects on the lunar surface larger than 2.6 km; • sunspots and their structure (only with the use of a lens filter); • all planets of the solar system; • phases of Mercury and Venus • small shield of Mars • Jupiter's equatorial belts and the Galilean moons • Saturn's rings and the largest moon Titan • Uranus and Neptune in the form of stars • the movement of asteroids against the background of stars • observations of bright comets
2. Stars • about 1.1 million stars in the entire sky, with a brightness of about 12.6 magnitude • double and multiple stars separated by an angle of more than 1.4" • the colors of the brightest stars
3. Nebula objects • almost all objects from the Messier catalog • hundreds of globular clusters • hundreds of open clusters • brighter nebulae • brighter galaxies
4. Ground observations A telescope with this type of optics is very well suited for terrestrial observations. The use of a prism angle attachment allows the telescope to be used as a very good quality spotting scope with the possibility of taking pictures with a given focal length. • telescope optical system: refractor • type of mounting: parallactic • aperture: 102 mm • focal length: 600 mm • aperture: f/5.9 • star range: 12.6 magnitude • maximum usable magnification: 204 x • maximum resolving power (Rayleigh): 1.40" • maximum resolving power (Dawes): 1.14" • aggregate capacity: 212x • tube weight: 2.4 kg • assembly weight: 3.8 kg • counterweights: 2.25 kg • total weight: 8.5 kg • tube length: 610 mm • tube diameter: 100 mm • type of stand: steel • assembly control: micro-motion knobs • type of eyepiece: rack and pinion • Focuser diameter: 2" • micro-movements of the focuser: no • mounting rail: Vixen
