Solar filter holder for Newtonian telescopes φ 200 mm (Synta factory)
Baader solar filter holder made of plastic, enabling quick and secure mounting of the solar foil on an astronomical telescope without the need to make the holder yourself. See also: SOLAR FILM (LINK)
The fixture works with the following telescopes:
• Sky-Watcher N-200/1000 DOBSON 8", N-203/1000 EQ-5
NOTE: ALWAYS CHECK THE CONDITION OF THE FILTER BEFORE INSTALLING IT ON THE TELESCOPE - CHECK THAT THE FILTER IS NOT LOOSE OR DAMAGED
QUICK PHOTO GUIDE How to attach Baader Planetarium solar foil to a plastic frame?
We need: solar foil, a frame, a sharp knife (or scalpel), double-sided adhesive tape, scissors and cotton gloves will be useful. (adhere small squares of double-sided tape to the inside of the binding - quite densely and haphazardly, they will not be visible anyway) (we stick the foil - preferably with cotton gloves to avoid fingerprints - relatively evenly, but do not stretch it; it is better to fold the foil than to stretch it; we cut out the excess foil at the outer edge of the binding with a sharp knife) The filter is ready – we can now attach it to the front of the telescope and begin observing. It's worth remembering that the foil provides safety, but additional eyepiece filters – lunar ND (neutral density), polarizing, color, or Baader Solar Continuum – can further reduce brightness and boost contrast.
