Sky Rover Optics 3x Extender 1.25" (Sky Rover Optics, SKU: 26811) is a telecentric optical system that nominally triples a telescope's effective focal length. It provides higher magnification with existing eyepieces and increases image scale when photographing the Moon and planets. It is designed for use with eyepieces and planetary cameras equipped with a 1.25" barrel.
The telecentric design helps limit vignetting and edge aberrations. Changes in the distance between the extender and the eyepiece or sensor, within the range accommodated by the design, have a limited effect on the amplification factor. The optics consist of four elements in two groups with FMC multilayer anti-reflection coatings.
• nominal increase in the telescope's effective focal length by a factor of 3×
• telecentric optical system that helps maintain a stable amplification factor as the distance behind the extender changes
• suitable for visual observation and lunar and planetary imaging
• FMC coatings that reduce light reflections at the lens surfaces
• three locking screws to secure an eyepiece or camera barrel in the 1.25" holder
• internal thread for attaching a compatible filter
• knurled section of the housing for improved grip during installation
• Sky Rover Optics 3× 1.25" extender
• three locking screws
• type: telecentric focal extender
• nominal amplification factor: 3×
• optical construction: 4 elements in 2 groups
• anti-reflection coatings: FMC
• telescope-side connection: 1.25" barrel
• eyepiece or camera connection: 1.25" holder
• accessory retention: three screws
• filter thread: internal M28 × 0.6, as specified by the manufacturer
• dimensions: 100 × 44 mm
• weight: 173 g
• housing colour: black
The extender expands the range of magnifications available with existing 1.25" eyepieces and allows the same accessory to be used for imaging with a planetary camera.
