The Sky Rover Optics 0.8× Reducer Flattener is a dedicated focal reducer and field corrector designed for the Sky Rover 66MA Multipurpose Astrograph. The accessory expands the telescope's imaging capabilities by shortening its focal length while helping maintain a sufficiently flat image plane for photographing wide areas of the sky.
The native focal length of the 66MA telescope is 462 mm at an f/7 focal ratio. After installing the 0.8× reducer, the effective focal length is shortened to 369.6 mm and the focal ratio is increased to f/5.6. This makes it possible to record a wider field and reduce the exposure time required to obtain a comparable signal level.
Compared with imaging at the native focal length, the linear field dimension is nominally increased by 25%, while the recorded sky area increases by approximately 56%. The reducer is designed to support full-frame sensors. For the 66MA and reducer configuration, the manufacturer publishes spot diagrams covering an image height of up to 21.6 mm, corresponding to the corners of a full-frame sensor.
The reducer was designed as part of the complete 66MA system. Installation uses the appropriate rings and adapters supplied with the telescope, while the compact flange ring incorporated into the 66MA design allows precise adjustment of the system position when working with the reducer.

The telescope, camera, intermediate rings and other imaging-train components are not included. The manufacturer's current documentation does not provide a separate backfocus value or the exact threads, dimensions, weight and optical design of this reducer. Installation should use the appropriate 66MA system adapters and the instructions supplied with the product instead of assuming the 55 mm spacing commonly used by other correctors.
