The Sky-Watcher EQ6-R PRO SynScan equatorial mount is an evolution of the popular NEQ-6 Pro design, featuring a number of important mechanical and functional improvements. This model incorporates solutions known from the hybrid AZ-EQ5/6 mounts, including a belt drive system that ensures smoother and quieter operation while eliminating backlash typical of traditional gear transmissions.
 
The mount head weighs 17,3 kg, the steel tripod 7,5 kg, and the maximum payload capacity is 20 kg for visual observations and 15 kg for astrophotography (excluding counterweights). Control is provided via the SynScan hand controller or – with an optional Wi-Fi adapter – through a mobile application. The mount is equipped with a universal saddle compatible with both Vixen and Losmandy dovetail standards.
