ZWO ASI 2600 MM-Air is a revolutionary camera that, thanks to the use of two CMOS matrices and integration with the ASIAir astronomical computer, constitutes a complete system for acquisition and processing of the signal collected by the telescope. In practice, this camera eliminates the need for an additional finder or OAG and the ASIAir computer, significantly simplifying the construction of an astrophotography set and facilitating its operation.

The heart of this camera is a monochrome CMOS matrix developed by Sony. The IMX571 sensor is characterized primarily by very low noise, the minimum value of which determined for the sensor temperature of -20 ° C is only 0.00012 e / s / pix. The photosensitive element developed by the Japanese uses the backlight technology, thanks to which it is much more sensitive than matrices made in traditional technology, in which there are metal electrodes and transistor elements between the light source and the photodiode surface. In the case of the Sony IMX571 sensor, these elements do not cover the active surface, which allowed to obtain maximum quantum efficiency in the peak exceeding 80%. The 16-bit analog-to-digital converter supported by 2 GB of DDR4 RAM is responsible for signal processing while maintaining the highest tonal range and maximum dynamic range. Data recording is possible thanks to the use of built-in fast eMMC memory with a capacity of 256 GB with the possibility of expansion by connecting an external medium with a maximum capacity of 1 TB.

This product also features an extremely advanced temperature control system. A two-stage Peltier module keeps the CMOS matrix temperature low, ensuring almost unmeasurable noise, and a special heater surrounding the protective glass eliminates the risk of water vapor condensation.
