The fully enclosed housing protects the emitter from rain, dust and debris. A 650 nm red Super LED displays the MRS reticle in one of three configurations: a 2 MOA dot, a 32 MOA circle or a combination of the dot and circle.
Reticle brightness is adjusted manually across 12 settings: 8 daylight and 4 night-vision-compatible levels. Shake Awake restores illumination when movement is detected, while Auto Off, setting memory and Lockout Mode help reduce power consumption and protect the selected settings against accidental changes. The RONIN version does not have automatic brightness adjustment or solar power.
The sight is powered by a CR1620 battery installed in a pull-out tray on the side of the housing. This allows the battery to be replaced without removing the sight and resetting its zero. The manufacturer specifies up to 50,000 hours of operation at brightness setting 6.
The anodised housing is made of 7075-T6 aluminium alloy. The construction meets the IPX8 rating and is designed to withstand loads of up to 5000 G. The sight mounts directly to a K Footprint interface, while the included RMSc-to-K plate allows it to be used on additional compatible platforms. Its low deck height permits co-witnessing with factory-height iron sights on many compatible pistols.
