Astronomik MC-Clear Clip-Filter EOS XL (Astronomik, SKU: 10202081) is clear optical glass with multilayer coatings, used for dust protection and to maintain the optical path in an imaging system. It does not block ultraviolet or infrared light, so its function differs from that of a UV-IR Block luminance filter.
With the filter installed, the mirror remains raised and the optical viewfinder is unavailable. The frame may slightly obstruct the image corners; this effect can be corrected with flat frames.
