Astronomik L-2 UV-IR Block Clip-Filter EOS R XL (Astronomik, SKU: 10212210) is a luminance filter that cuts ultraviolet and infrared while preserving a broad visible-light band. L-2 sits between the wider L-1 and narrower L-3 and is intended for most optical systems with a corrector or flattener.

Cutting radiation outside the useful band helps reduce star bloating caused by imperfect colour correction in the optics. The filter can record luminance data, but it is not itself a light-pollution filter. This version uses standard 1 mm glass.

The Clip mount places the filter inside a compatible camera body, in front of the sensor. This allows the same filter to be used with different compatible lenses or a telescope and reduces dust settling on the sensor. The correct version must be selected for both the camera model and the lens.
