The Explore Scientific 9 mm focal length lens has an extremely large field of view of 120 degrees. It provides an unforgettable observation experience that even exceeds the expectations of the most demanding amateur astronomers. The own field is larger than the angle of view of the human eye - you can (and must) look around the eyepiece. While observing, you may forget that you are looking through a telescope :-)
The optical system of the eyepiece was assembled from 12 lenses in 8 groups, also using lanthanum glass. Chromatic aberration of the eyepiece has been virtually eliminated. Special EDM (Enhanced Multilayer Deposition) coatings on the surfaces of optical elements increase light transmission.
The hermetic structure of the body and the filling of the optical system with argon ensure constant parameters for many years of use and 30 minutes of water resistance at a depth of 1 meter.
Filling the system with argon in place of the nitrogen used so far reduces gas escape and diffusion through the seals, eliminates changes in optical parameters as a result of chemical reactions and absorbs the impact of temperature changes on optical parameters.
The waterproof, waterproof and argon-filled lens system allows you to enjoy the full sharpness of images throughout the field of view and truly point-like images of stars. • focal length: 9 mm • construction: 12 elements in 8 groups • coatings: EMD • AFOV's own field of view = 120 ° • exit pupil offset: 12.5 mm • binding standard: 2 " • filter thread: yes, 2 " • water resistance: yes, argon filling • weight: 1300 g 24 months
