Clouds are the most photographed and the most photogenic phenomenon of nature. Their formation, changes, accompanying phenomena, the play of light and shadows have always been an object of delight and the subject of research.
Richard Hamblyn, the author of many award-winning books on clouds, presents examples of surprising and unusual cloud formations - from the bands of "cloud streets" to huge clouds of Altocumulus lenticularis resembling the shape of a UFO. In the atlas you will also find impressive photos and descriptions of unusual optical effects, such as gloria and halo. A separate chapter was devoted to clouds created by man, including condensation streaks, pirocumulus clouds and chimney clouds. Fantastic photographs of clouds made from various corners of the world, as well as from space, show a fascinating spectacle that takes place in the sky.
