Daystar Filters Interference Eliminator – C-mount (SKU: IECC) is a tilt adapter designed to eliminate interference patterns such as Newton’s Rings that commonly appear when imaging in narrowband monochromatic light, particularly Hydrogen-alpha solar imaging. These interference fringes occur when nearly parallel light internally reflects within the camera sensor or optical components, producing alternating light and dark bands across the image.
The Interference Eliminator solves this problem by slightly tilting the camera relative to the optical axis while keeping the center of the image sensor stationary. This ensures that focus position, framing and vignetting remain unchanged while the tilt alters the angle of incidence of the incoming light and the internal optical path lengths inside the sensor, thereby mitigating interference.

For proper operation the Interference Eliminator should be placed directly in front of the camera in the optical train. Adjust the tilt gradually until the interference pattern disappears or becomes sufficiently reduced.
