The Askar FMA 230 is a professional astronomical optics system consisting of a three-element lens and a four-element focal length reducer. Due to its modular structure, the astrograph can be used both in astrophotography and during visual observations.

The lens of the Askar FMA 230 system is an apochromatic triplet with an air gap, characterized by an excellent correction of chromatic aberrations thanks to the use of two elements made of low dispersion glass (ED). The lens works with a four-element reducer and when connected it is possible to shoot at a focal length of 230 mm and the aperture of f / 4.6.

This instrument can also be successfully used for visual observations. For this purpose, after disconnecting the reducer, one should mount the included adapter, which enables the connection of two-inch glasses or angle adapters.

The set is complemented by precisely made mounting clamps with a solid Vixen foot, used to embed the astrograph in the assembly. Due to the special design of the Askar FMA 230 accessory socket, it can also be mounted on a classic photographic tripod equipped with an Arca-Swiss connector.
