The ZWO ASI 462 MC camera was designed based on the Sony IMX462 sensor made in CMOS technology. This sensational matrix is not only characterized by an extremely low noise level (despite the lack of active cooling!), But also an excellent operating characteristic in the near infrared (NIR) range.
The construction of the Bayer mask allowed to achieve incredibly high sensitivity for radiation with a wavelength of 800 - 1000 nm. Thanks to this, this camera is an ideal tool for enthusiasts of planetary photography, who, with a great reserve, refer to other models of cameras equipped with color matrices, which, however, have much worse operating characteristics in the NIR range. .
The camera sensor works with a 12-bit ADC converter with a wide dynamic range. This combination guarantees that the images recorded by the ZWO ASI 462 MC camera will be a source of pride for its owner and the envy of his friends.
